Portuguese Anti-Corruption Authority designates the members of its Sanctions Commission

The Portuguese National Anticorruption Mechanism ("MENAC") has designated the members of its Sanctions Commission. As a result, the Commission launched its activities on October 2.

Pursuant to the General Framework against Corruption (Decree-Law no. 109-E/2021), the Sanctions Commission is responsible for exercising MENAC's sanctioning powers. In particular, the Commission has powers to launch administrative proceedings relating to the breach of obligations provided under the aforementioned statute.
